Big Ass Fans is in the business of selling, big ass fans! Often times these fans are installed into large warehouses, and controlling them individually was becoming a problem to their customers. Big Ass Fans came to our team wanting to create a better solution to connect and control the fans that their clients purchased. As the UI Designer, I was able to create a visual design that worked in conjunction with the tedious code created by our developers.

 

We created an iPad app that would allow someone in the warehouse to control every aspect of the fans. They could start or stop them all at the same time. We also allowed the customers to create groups of lights and fans, to make controlling different sections of the warehouse easier. The customers could also set a schedule for when different items would turn on and off. Also built into the app was a way to troubleshoot any fan or device that was experiencing a problem.

 

At the end of the project, Big Ass Fans were very happy and got a lot of positive feedback from the customers about the usefulness of the app.
