Jessica Lange introduces "The Bad Girls of The Big Easy" It's Rainin' - Irma Thomas Time Is On My Side - Irma Thomas Last Train/(I Know) You Don't Love Me No More - Allen Toussaint & Cyndi Lauper Going To The Chapel - The Dixie Cups Iko, Iko - The Dixie Cups (with Irma Thomas and Cyndi Lauper) Bette Midler goes off on W I Think It's Going To Rain Today? - Bette Midler Scarlett Johanson introduces Elton John Lost That Feelin' In My Hands??? - Elton John Someone Saved My Life Tonight - Elton John Levon - Elton John The ??s represent song titles or artists that I'm unsure of. Big Chief is the Professor Longhair song, but I didn't recognize the artist and they never said who he was. The first Elton John song is one of his longer, epic "hits", but the title escapes me. Some good stuff on here, so thanks again for the seed. Just an editorial comment. Even if you think Cyndi Lauper has a nice voice, she seems lost with this material, at least to me. The other four women seem to ignore her during Iko, Iko, which is kind of funny. Also, Last Train/I Know.. is kind of a strange hybrid tune. Toussaint sings the verses on his "Last Train" while Cyndi takes the lyrics of "I Know". I'm not sure if it actually "works", but it's an interesting idea. I love "Last Train", however, so I could be a bit biased here ! One of the unexpected highlights for me is Lenny Kravitz doing Aaron Neville's 70s funk classic "Hercules". He really nails this one (again in my opinion) and the band sounds strong here (actually I think the backing band sounds best on the funkier 70s compositions they perform here).
