This is an 8 episode series first broadcast in 1995. In similar style to "Sounds of the
Sixties" and "Sounds of the Seventies", archive performances are linked by humorous clips from tv shows of the time. Both audio and video are the original MPEG streams
as broadcast by the BBC, except the audio has been gain-adjusted (not re-encoded) to approximately equalize the per-episode volume levels, which varied quite markedly over the series. Episodes 2 and 3 have the BBC4 logo - somebody at the BBC forgot to switch it off, tsk tsk. The other six episodes are logo free. Episodes 6 to 8 will be on DVD 2, which also includes The Cars - Rock Goes To College 1978.
