During the winter of 2009, Medeski Martin & Wood embarked upon a 12 date tour of the northeast and midwest. Thanks to the gracious efforts of various tapers, we have recordings of 9 of these shows. Of those 9 recorded shows, MMW began 6 of them with improvisations. This release collects those improvisations (and a few extra tunes that I couldn't help but include) in one place. In addition, this collection fits on 3 audio cds. Unfortunately I had to cut 11/15/09d1t3 into 2 parts to fit this onto 3 audio cds, but you won't even notice the cut if you listen to it from your computer. -RandyB (1/18/10)
