Originally Roy Haynes was booked to play the festival with a band featuring Kenny Garrett and Nicholas Payton, giving a tribute to the music of Charlie Parker.
Only one or two days before the festival Garrett severely injured his hand, rendering him unable to play for an extended period of time.
Haynes quickly put together a new group, without Garrett AND Payton, inviting Antonio Hart on reeds.
