STRANGE RELATIONSHIP YOUKEY THEATRE, LAKELAND : 6th APRIL 2002: 10. 1+1+1=3 COMMENT : The final chapter in Thunderball's Celebration 2002 set, and as with all others in this collection this was originally intended to be released by Thunderball before they went tits-up and folded, hence these are fan released cdr's and not factory pressed cd's. The final night of the Celebration took place in the early hours of 28th June, and is a fitting, uplifting way to end an extraordinarily good week of shows. It begins with Prince at the keyboard and includes an extremely rare performance of 'U're Gonna C Me' (full length), and a beautiful version of 'Empty Room' - much to the crowds evident surprise. The version of 'God' performed spans both discs and Disc 1 contains the Prince version clocking in at 25 minutes long, whereas the Disc 2 section of the song features vocals by Musiq, Kip Blackshire and Rachelle Farrell. The show ends with a funky jam over the 'The Greatest Romance' loop with various crowd chants. Overall (I'm talking about all 5 Chapters of this release) this is a nice, extremely good re-working of the 2002 Xenophobia Celebration recordings. It is superior to the Premium release as it contains the 21st June recording.
