There were 2 instances where the sound drops down.(mic being hidden im assuming)first at 2:59 in A Great Day,since it isnt very offensive.only for 20 seconds of music and most of this song is missing to begin with,i left it alone.the second being the first 3 mins of Keep Talkin. This one was alot worse so i faded it in.Other then this a great sounding show. Speed Correcting and Remastering notes: I went into this project with the intention of not messing with the recording at all unless it absolutely improved the sound. After listening to it repetitively for months I made notes on certain things I wanted to change. I think the results are a definite upgrade to this glorious performance and recording. First off I corrected the speed and pitch of the recording. The recording was transferred to play back too slow. I checked every song using a perfectly tuned guitar and keyboard to see if all the songs were consistently incorrect. They were all too low in pitch by exactly 3/4 of a tone. I increased the speed by 1.5 to correct this. The other thing I noticed was that I was constantly adjusting the volume throughout while listening. Several songs were recorded at a lower volume than the rest. I had to play around with this quite a bit to ensure that no levels were peaking too high and distorting. Here is a list of volume adjustments I made: disc 1 tracks 3, 4 & 5 - boosted the level 3 db disc 1 tracks 6, 7, 8 & 9 - boosted the level 6 db There were several moments (especially in the 2nd set) where the crowd was so loud between songs that I was forced to turn the volume way down every time I listened. The volume of screams and claps from a few people close to the recorder was ear piercing at times. Basically, I isolated those moments in between songs and compressed them enough to where the really loud people would not seem like they were screaming into the microphones. The results are that those close clappers and screamers blend a little more into the rest of the crowd noise. The sound is smooth and you will not have to adjust the volume between any songs. Here is a list of those moments I edited. at the end of One Of These Days at the end of Wish You Were Here/ beginning of Us And Them at the end of Us And Them/ beginning of Money at the end of Money/ beginning of Another Brick In The Wall part 2 at the end of Another Brick In The Wall part 2 the entire encore break at the end of Hey You/ beginning of Run Like Hell at the end of Run Like Hell I did not even attempt to reduce the crowd noise during the music for fear of quality loss. However, there were a few places I could get away with it that desperately needed it. The sound quality of the performance was not effected by these edits. SOYCD – scream at 00:51:16 that lasted for about 1 second Money – during part of the tape loop at the beginning Hey You – the 1st 13 seconds Run Like Hell – the 1st 1 minute 25 seconds (during part of Dave’s delayed-guitar sounds) I did a few fades to smooth out the listening experience. applied a 7 sec fast fade in at the beginning of disc 1 track 1 added 1 sec of silence between disc 1 tracks 5 & 6 to ease the cut added 1 sec fade ins/outs between the 1st and 2nd set and added 1 second of silence applied a 27 sec slow fade out at the end of disc 2 track 10 No fades were added between Time and High Hopes so these will play seamlessly on longer media. No EQ was used whatsoever. –OctopusRider February 2007
