Passport February 12th, 1974 Hamburg, Germany @ Onkel Pö's SBD > ? > CDR > flac > CDR Disc One: 1 Abracadabra 2 ?? (improv?) 3 Homunculus 4 Looking Through 5 and 6 - Not Passport, from a different show by a different band?! 7 Mr Big Shot 8 Ready For Take Off 9 A Simple Song Disc Two: 1 Rockport (with Inga Rumpf again on vocals) 2 Fairytale 3 ?? (guitar / keyboard improv?) 4 + 5 Eloquence (track 4 goes silent between 7'16 and 7'24 and then continues on track 5. Ideally the 8 seconds of silence should be removed and the 2 tracks then joined together) 6 Damals 7 ?? 8 Hand Made 9 Lemuria's Dance 10 Get Yourself A Second Passport (I believe this is actually a poor quality recording which has been copied directly from the album track on Second Passport, not from a live concert?) lineup (assumption): Klaus Doldinger - sax Curt Cress - dr Wolfgang Schmid - bass Kristian Schulze - keys Volker Kriegel - gt Sound quality takes a noticeable dip from Disc 2, track 8 onwards but still very listenable. It could well be Volker Kriegel guesting on guitar, he certainly played with Passport at some of the Doldinger Jubilee concerts. If the date of the gig is correct (I assume its 12th Feb 1974 and not 2nd Dec) then 2 of the tracks here (Homuncuus and Damals) were performed live 9 months before they were recorded in the studio for the superb Cross Collateral album. I am fairly certain that tracks 5 and 6 of disc 1 are from a completely different concert and are not by Passport at all! The sound quality is better and I would say its much more recent. I don't know these tracks music but it sounds more like Al DiMeola? Quality varies - most tracks are bright and clear, some are muddy - it sounds like there are a couple of different sources used. Doldinger's work is not proper documented yet although there are fan pages http://wengenroth.we.ohost.de/ (german) http://www.passportjazz.com (u.s.) and so it is a hard job to collect a small ammount of detailed information
