Here's the "3/4" Meters (Art is missing in action), but with Allen Toussaint and String Cheese Incident's Kyle Hollingsworth sitting in. Plus a killer horn section (featuring Donald Harrison Jr., Terence Blanchard, James Andrews, Trombone Shorty, Kirk Joseph & Big Sam)... PLUS Walter "Wolfman" Washington. Whew! This is from some New Orleans-related festivities held in conjunction with the Democratic National Convention in Denver. The downside? The mix sometimes sucks. Sometimes you can barely hear Zig singing, and both keyboardists are often lost in the mix. Whoever was running the mix in the live truck must've been asleep on the job. They even cut the live feed before the encore (you can hear the OZ DJ cussing them). But even with those distractions, it's still a killer performance at times. Well worth a download. Although this focuses on the Meters' performance, I've included the immediately preceding songs that feature Randy Newman performing with Zig and George Porter Jr. It's only five minutes, but is pretty cool. Also some stage announcements, just to make things complete.
