Celebration Suite 10. --interview-- Flora Purim (aka Prisoner 2775) - vocals Cannonball Adderley - sax & MC George Duke - keyboards Airto - percussion Miroslav Vitous - bass Raul De Souza - trombone Ndugu - drums Notes: Cannonball does introduce track 1 as "a group composition called 'Funky Thing'", so go figure... Anyway, Flora often vocalizes using words from other songs taken totally out of context. At the end of track 5 she sings part of the words to Jorge Ben's "Take it Easy My Brother Charles", though there's nothing else in this track resembling that song. First part of track 8 is a traditional song called "Menino de Jaçanã" (originally recorded by Luiz Vieira, I think). The rest is indeed Hermeto's "Jive Talk" (originally titled "Ladainha", which is also the name of a Brazilian Northeastern style of vocal improvisation, but that's beside the point). Track 9 is a Brazilian classic, but I can't remember the title!!! I hate when that happens.
