All The Young Dudes 20. It's Alright 21. Henry The H-Bomb David Bowie with Mott the Hoople, featuring Lou Reed on guide vocals, Trident studio sessions in May 1972 22. Sweet Jane Lou Reed with Mott the Hoople, Trident studio sessions in May 1972 23. Shakin' All Over 24. Please Don't Touch 25. So Sad The Legendary Lost Tapes Notes: Supposedly, the Trident tracks were recorded when Lou & David took a break from recording "Transformer" and join Mott while they were recording the "All The Young Dudes" album. The Glasgow Ziggy show is not complete and there are cuts between the tracks. It's the Mott session that makes this one worth listening to! -------------- The Complete Arnold Corns Sessions Notes: A collection of previously (un)released songs and demos recorded from 1971!!! The track splits has been redone to make it far superior than the way it was done on the Silver itself! I cannot give credit to person who did that, as I do not know, but full kudos for a wonderful job whoever you may be! - HCStaff Arnold Corns was a band formed by David Bowie in 1971. The name was inspired by the Pink Floyd song "Arnold Layne". This was one of Bowie’s side projects and something of a dry run for Ziggy Stardust. The band was formed in Dulwich College and Bowie agreed to write for them. At the same time he also agreed to write for the 19 year old dress designer Freddie Burretti (aka Rudi Valentino). Bowie came up with the idea of combining Burretti and Arnold Corns, and with the help of Mick Ronson, Mick Woodmansey and Trevor Bolder, a revised version of Arnold Corns was created during the spring of 1971. Bowie was writing material that would later become Hunky Dory, as well as songs earmarked for Burretti. Burretti as the frontman was a total fabrication, and his contributions were simply lost alongside Bowie's. The band’s first single was "Moonage Daydream"/"Hang on to Yourself", released on B&C records on 7 May 1971 and a stunning flop. Both these songs later reappeared on Ziggy Stardust in new versions. The Arnold Corns versions appeared as bonus tracks on the Rykodisc CD rerelease of The Man Who Sold the World. A second single "Looking for a Friend"/"Man in the Middle" was planned but scrapped (it was released by Krazy Kat in 1984). A very nice disc with songs recorded during the short Arnold Corns era in 1971. The things that are "new" on this CD are three new versions of LOOKING FOR A FRIEND, one of MOONAGE DAYDREAM and one of HANG ON TO YOURSELF (with Gene Vincent!). The rest of the songs have been released on other discs. The sound quality is excellent, except for the Gene Vincent track. That track is only good! Some funny liner notes, and some really good information about the Arnold Corns project! A true must! -BASSMAN The Band: David Bowie - Vocals, Guitar Freddie Burretti - Vocals Mick Ronson - Guitar Mark Carr Pritchard - Guitar Trevor Bolder - Bass Mick Woodmansey - Drums
