The set captured here on a Wednesday night typifies the relentless groove and party atmosphere always portrayed at the gogo - weekday or weekend. This show has a few Chuck classics like Moodys Mood and Ladi Dadi and 2001 . . . all of which you might hear crankin at a Chuck show today. Also, up and coming DC Scorpio was in the house with the regional hit "Huster." But, the special treat this Wednesday night was the presence of Sly Stone who felt good enough to join the band and sing not once, but twice. Sly was not seen much in the ladder 80's. He did some notable work with Jesse Johnson, Bobby Womack and a few others, but he was WAAAAYYYYY under the radar. This 1988 show, to me, is a pretty special show; it is a rare superstar appearance that got recorded and remains relatively well-preserved.
